WHAT'S NEXT NORTH CAROLINA!

My wife Kathy and I are about fed up with what's happening here in North Carolina, Politically speaking that is. It seems as though North Carolina's Conservative Right is following the party's string of Anti-Abortion, Anti Science ,Voter Suppression , Gun legislation and not listening to their constituents.  Mark my words, this will come back to bite them on their asses come election 2014. Already their approval ratings are going down, especially McCororys, which in my opinion, couldn't happen to a better guy. JERK

North Carolina has made national news. We watched Rachel Maddow, Melissa Harris-Perry, and Chris Hayes the other night and there was NC politics all over their screens and they were talking about voter suppression and other political craziness in NC.

You be this judge. This is our state of NC in action:
The fact that North Carolina wants to have a ID voter law is mind boggling to me, since there have been ZERO number of incidences of voter fraud in this state. It is all about CONTROL and SUPPRESSION of the AFRICAN AMERICAN voters. Also the ELDERLY AND POOR.
Then there is the Senate Bill 82. This bill would eliminate the option of straight party ticket voting. This bill was introduced by two Republican senators.
Senate Bill 666 filed last week by Republican Bill Cook, strips tax deductions from parents of college students who choose to vote where they go to school. The measure also requires voters to register in the same county where their vehicles are registered, another shot at college students who retain vehicle registration in their home counties. As you know the majority of college students vote Democrat.

On her show Rachel Maddow said the following: "Do yourself a favor and go set your Google news alert to North Carolina Republicans. They have completely unchecked power right now, and their ideas about how to use that power are, as the political scientists say, rather "amazeballs." For people who don't know what "amazeballs" means, it's a trendy way of saying something is amazing.

McCrory appointed John Skvarla as Secretary of the Department of Enviroment and Natural Resources (DENR). In an interview with WRAL, Skvarla questioned the science behind climate change and perpetuated the false notion that oil is a renewable resource. Seriously this is the go to guy for fracking.

In early February John Droz, a member of NC-20, a government and real estate group and powerful adversary of the Coastal Resources Commission, was invited by Rep. George Cleveland, a Republican from Onslow county, to speak to lawmakers about science. Droz's cachet among conservative lawmakers indicates that science may have little influence in enviromental policy making this session. Droz, is not a scientist, but nonetheless, he delivered a bewildering 155-slide Powerpoint presentation that attempted to discredit scientists, the scientific method and by extension, climate change, global warming and sea level rise.

This pretty much sums up NC Republican Unchecked Majority in the General Assembly in the 30 or so hours of the recent session the legislature gutted  Racial Justice legislation, defunded Planned Parenthood again, thumbed its nose at Forced Sterilization survivors and Climate-Change Science, doled out dozens of Anti Regulatory Favors and not only Fast-Tracked Fracking, but also packed a new board to oversee it with people very friendly to the Oil and Gas Industry.

Art Pope, a retailer in NC, his money was so decisive in the 2010 election that Democrats have taken to calling North Carolina's new leadership "Bought and Paid For" by Pope. This is how it looks.

This is Jillsview of Politics.
