This blog has been rolling around in my head for months now. With all this crap from the conservative right wing nuts both from our North Carolina General Assembly and this country the time is now to stand up and say JUST SAY NO! Our country is FAR from being the UNITED STATES of America.
All this talk about ABORTION, if you don't want one JUST SAY NO. What gives anyone the right to say to another human being what they can and can't do with their body. It is NONE of anyone's business especially a bunch of men in suits. All this business about closing Planned Parenthood. These men have NO clue what Planned Parenthood really does. It helps women of little means get the care they need for their pregnancy. The amount of abortions they do is minimal at best. Killing abortion doctors is murder. If people care so much about stopping abortion where are they when the kid is born into poverty or the mother dies from giving birth? They're so many reasons why a woman terminates a pregnancy. Some say give the kid up for adoption, sure that is a way out but in the mean time who feeds the child and takes care of it foster care. Oh yea...good idea. Some of these foster care parents are hit and miss as far as care goes. We will save that for another blog.
All this talk about SAME GENDER MARRIAGE. If you don't want to marry someone of the same gender as you JUST SAY NO! It boggles my mind how people cherry pick the Bible for their own good. Yet no one and mean no one lives by the Bible. Now I am no expert on the Bible not by any means. But some of what I have heard from friends who are, say some of the written word is illegal in today's time. So to me this reasoning is BOGUS at best. If you disagree with this "lifestyle" as many people put it, then JUST SAY N O for yourself, you don't have any right whatsoever to tell someone else it's wrong. We are people. Regular everyday Joes and Josies. Sure we have our share of bad folks in our tribe, so do heterosexuals. We are human just as you. My point is don't judge and have a moral compass. Those conservative right wing nuts, yes that is my judgement, have no idea what a moral compass its. There are times that I fear for my life out in the world when I see a group of good ole boys with guns out hunting. You gotta wonder what are they hunting? This is a real fear and I realize a real judgement on my part, but hey such is life. Just because I see good ole boys with guns doesn't mean I want to shoot them so why would they want to shoot me? Some do some don't.

THIS COUNTRY
This country is supposedly the most powerful in the nation. If that is the case, then why the hell does it seem to be spirally down the proverbial drain? There is so much corruption and money in politics, that I feel WE THE PEOPLE, truth and justice has gone out the window. The old saying that Money Talks is so true where the majority of politicians are concerned. They simply don't seem to care about their fellow woman/men. Let me rephrase that, they only seem to care about the men and their money that put them in office.
It is not only politicians and their lame policies, the majority of Americans, have become so negative and so me, me, me that it is ridiculous. Take for example, immigration. So many people don't want to see a pathway to citizenship for legal/illegal immigrants. Why is that, let me give one example of what listening to my fellow Americans has done for me, in the grocery store line, a woman was talking to the cashier, after an Hispanic woman checked out in front of her, she was talking about her husband is on unemployment because of {these here illegal aliens have come over and taken jobs away from us Americans.} Really, seriously, First, she has no idea what that woman's status is, second, she has no idea what living conditions that woman is going through, third, the woman paid in cash. These so called jobs that immigrants are {taking away} from Americans, most of them are low labor jobs, jobs that the majority of Americans feel are beneath them. Also, as of May of this year unemployment keeps on coming down even more. It would come down even more if the damn Republican Tea Party would get the hell out of the way, better yet, get off their lazy obstructionists asses and work with our President, FOR THE PEOPLE! That is why we hired them.

Another thing that has crawled up under my skin and is irritating the crap out of me is: Welfare. All this crap about making welfare recipients get drug tested and no drug testing for gun owners. WTF. Drug testing costs money and most of these folks on welfare on broke, most through NO fault of their own. What is wrong with this picture!! Oh and another one of our gracious Americans was heard from, by me, once again in a grocery store line, There was a woman who paid for her groceries with a welfare card. The woman was black, I reveal this because, the woman who made the comment was white. When the woman left the line, with her groceries, the woman in line, made a statement to the cashier, I bet she is driving a Lexus. WTF! This just shows you that RACISM is still alive and well herein NC and other parts of the world I am sure.
Here is a statistic for you: Let's break it down:
Percentage of Whites on Welfare 38.8
Percentage of Blacks on Welfare 39.8
Percentage of Hispanics on Welfare 15.7
Percentage of Asian on Welfare 2.4
Percentage of other on Welfare 3.3
Why is it that there are fewer Hispanics and Asians on Welfare in this country? This is something that we truly need to look at. Could it be that their work ethics are better than American's or that they actually work, no matter what the job is, they work!
Check out this link for more welfare statistics:

This brings me to Gun Control laws and the politicians that have been bought by the gun lobbyists. Why is it that the majority of WE THE PEOPLE are in favor of stronger gun control laws 55% favor, 44% oppose, 1% no opinion <---Losers. This according to the CNN poll.
How many senators do you suppose were bought and paid for to vote against stronger gun laws, better yet simply stronger background checks: it seems that 42 out of 45 senators who voted NO on the recent bill have received significant donations from the gun lobby. In otherwords, WE THE PEOPLE, be damned. The money and their political careers mean way more than what their constituents think or want.http://www.care2.com/causes/93-of-senators-who-rejected-gun-control-paid-by-nra.html

REALITY CHECK
Okay enough is enough already Republican Tea Party. It seems that all these idiots want to do is make the rich richer and the poor poorer. The North Carolina General Assembly has made national news with their craziness.
What I would love to see happen is that each and every one these members of congress, both Republican Tea Party and Democrats, try to survive on what the regular person makes. Because if they got paid by the hour they would be in deep shit.
You would thank that after 37 times of trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act aka Obamacare, that they would STOP it and get about the business of creating jobs, beginning with our infrastructure and our roadways. This has been THE worst congress since I don't know when.
Now the latest is that Texas is going to stop health insurance for the poor and aged. WTF! I really believe that these folks in congress have been in their cushion jobs, home and life way to long. They have lost touch with the reality of the regular people on this planet or they just don't give a damn. Which is probably more the reason for all this stupidity and hatefulness of theirs.
This have got to change or this country will fall. We can't allow that to happen people. Voting is the only "weapon" if you will, that we have. The 2014 election is coming up and we must vote these people out that have not served this country well. Stop watching Fox/Faux news and start watching your representatives and what they say in their speeches and how they vote on the issues that you hold dear.
Get involved!

GUNS AND AMERICANS
Let me go ahead and let it be know that I SUPPORT STRENGTHENING GUN LAWS! The gun violence has gotten way out of control. It seems that more and more, when I pick up the newspaper or read an article online, it mostly has to do with gun violence. What the hell is going on with this country?! It seems as though we are turning into the wild west days.
The craziness of our General Assembly here in North Carolina isn't helping matters any. They have loosened the law where you can carry concealed weapons into more places now. WTF! NC already lifted the concealed weapon ban years ago. This is just simply nuts to me.
Another thing that angers me to no end, Parents giving their young children rifles, then they "accidentally" shoot their sibling, and nothing gets done! My thoughts are that the parents should be held accountable. Some sort of penalty should be placed on that parent for neglect. Now please don't think that I am heartless about the loss they suffered loosing their child, however, let me point out, that if they abuse or neglect their children they are punished, what's the difference with this scenario? If you leave a gun out in the open, for another child to pick up and shoot. That to me is neglect, causing a death. Perhaps if more parents were put on trial for this, then more parents would be more careful.
Check out this web site: http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/crime/2012/12/gun_death_tally_every_american_gun_death_since_newtown_sandy_hook_shooting.html
This website contains the number of deaths, by Age, Gender, Location and Date caused by guns. It is astonishing to me the amount of gun deaths just since Sandy Hook. The total as of this moment is: 3852 or more. The, or more, comment is because gun related deaths happen so often in this country that it is hard to keep up with them. These are not just numbers written on a page, these are actual human lives that were taken at the end of a gun of some sort. WAKE UP people! This is not about your precious 2nd Amendment Right to bear arms. This is about taking guns away from those that shouldn't have one. If you don't understand that then something is so wrong with your mentality. There I said it, this is my blog, I can say whatever I want to. Free speech and all that.
This should not be a Democrat issue, Tea Party Republican issue, NRA issue, in fact, Politics should NOT even be brought into this equation. The fact is we have a gun problem in this country and it HAS to be fixed!
http://www.whitehouse.gov/issues/preventing-gun-violence
Here is the Presidents Plan to reduce Gun Violence in the Country:
1. Require background checks for all gun sales.
2. Strengthen the background check system for gun sales.
3.Pass a new, stronger ban of assault weapons.
4.Limit ammunition magazines to 10 rounds.
5. Finish the job of getting armor-piercing bullets off the streets.
6.Give law enforcement additional tools to prevent and prosecute gun crime.
7.End the freeze on gun violence research.
8.Make our schools safer with new resource officers and counselors, better emergency response plans, and more nurturing school climates.
9.Ensure quality coverage of mental health treatment, particularly for young people.
No single law-or even set of laws- can prevent every act of violence in our country. But the fact that this problem is complex cannot be an excuse for inaction. ~ President Obama.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/issues/preventing-gun-violence
I don't know about you, but to me, these seem like pretty common sense regulations. But the Senate apparently did not think so. When a bipartisan, watered down, background check legislation called the Mancin-Toomey amendment came up for a vote in the senate, 46 opposed it and 54 agreed. Unfortunately Senate rules are that there has to be a 60 vote in order for legislation to pass. Those that opposed this legislation were all Republican. Of course, back in their states, their constituents are giving them hell for their NO votes. Many are up for re-election in 2014. Let us hope they don't get back in.
The main driving force of all this back lash is coming from the National Rifle Association, NRA. The main nut case Wayne LaPierre, executive vice president of the NRA, meaning the head nut, made it clear on Friday that his organization will not budge on guns.
"All over this country, everywhere I go, people agree, they want bad guys taken off the streets and they want children protected in their schools." LaPierre said. "And they don't want their freedom taken away."
This is such a bogus statement, because 61% of Americans support new gun laws, of course, that number is slowly declining because of pressure by special interest groups along with the NRA.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/page/2010-2019/WashingtonPost/2013/04/16/National-Politics/Polling/release_226.xml
Here is an April 2013 ABC Poll put out in the Washington Post. I would like to share a few of those results with you:
Q: Would you support or oppose a law requiring a nationwide ban on the sale of assault weapons?
56% Support 42% Oppose
Q: Would you support or oppose a law requiring a nationwide ban on high-capacity ammunition clips, meaning those containing more than 10 bullets?
56% Support 41% Oppose
Q: Would you support or oppose a law requiring background checks on people buying guns at gun shows or online?
Support 86% Oppose 13%
Q: Do you think (new gun control laws always interfere with the right to own guns){RTOG}, or do you think (It's possible to make new gun control laws without interfering with gun rights){WOIGR}?
RTOG 38% WOIGR 55%
At the end of the day, wouldn't it be so nice if Politicians had the balls and the guts to do what We The People hired them to do, work for US, instead of, Special Interest Groups and Lobbyists? The fact is more and more people are being killed by gun violence, as each day passes. Some Americans are being swayed by fear tactics and untruths by LaPierre.

PRO CHOICE DOES NOT MEAN PRO ABORTION
Just because people are pro choice does not make them pro abortion. I take my two cents out of the equation because it doesn't concern me, just as it doesn't concern any politician or church. Speaking for myself , because really that is all I can do, it is NO ones business what a woman does with her body. Her decision is between her, her God/Higher Power, and her Doctor. There are many, many reasons why a woman would have an abortion. It could be a medical reason, it could be a financial reason, it could simply be a decision not to have a child at this time. Who's business is it anyway?.! NO ONES!
I for one am truly grateful that my Mother did not have an abortion, otherwise my younger brother, Todd would not be here today. But there again, it was my Mothers choice NOT to have an abortion, instead she very painfully and with a heavy heart gave Todd up for adoption. It took many years and much looking but Todd found us and now we are family. Put simply it is a woman's choice.
I really want to know why a bunch of old and young conservative white men are so concerned about abortion. It is NONE of their business. That is why we need to separate Politics, Church and State. In other words, keep your religion and political affiliation out of the voting booth. In fact, abortion has NO place in politics at all! That is why this country is in the shape it is now. That and way too many conservative tea party members who were bought and paid for by rich old white men.
Why is it that the Republican Tea Party wants to make abortion illegal, yet they don't want you to be able to get contraceptives on your insurance?.! It makes no sense to me what so ever! It sounds to me like they want to make this country of OURS, into a Theology. I say NO WAY!
This brings me to Planned Parenthood. This fantastic organization helps women of low income with all kinds of medical issues. Abortion is just 3% of what they do. Now the Republican Tea Party is closing down Planned Parenthood facilities all over the United States. It makes NO sense to me. Women will get abortions no matter what, if they really want one or really need to have one. It seems to me, it would be better for them to have an abortion that is done in a clinic rather than in a back bar room hall somewhere with a drunk guy, that has an old wire coat hanger or rusty instruments. If this begins happening again the BLOOD of the women that go through this, will be on the hands of these old white men in the Republican Tea Party for their part in shutting down Planned Parenthood and all the other abortion clinics in this country.
All you women and men out there that are sick and tired of these crazy ass Republican Tea Party messing in our freedom of choice need to start really paying attention and Step Up and do something. Make calls to your reps, write letters to the editor or just simply send an email to your rep about your concerns and/or complaints. It won't work if you don't work it!

WHAT'S NEXT NORTH CAROLINA!
My wife Kathy and I are about fed up with what's happening here in North Carolina, Politically speaking that is. It seems as though North Carolina's Conservative Right is following the party's string of Anti-Abortion, Anti Science ,Voter Suppression , Gun legislation and not listening to their constituents. Mark my words, this will come back to bite them on their asses come election 2014. Already their approval ratings are going down, especially McCororys, which in my opinion, couldn't happen to a better guy. JERK
North Carolina has made national news. We watched Rachel Maddow, Melissa Harris-Perry, and Chris Hayes the other night and there was NC politics all over their screens and they were talking about voter suppression and other political craziness in NC.
You be this judge. This is our state of NC in action:
The fact that North Carolina wants to have a ID voter law is mind boggling to me, since there have been ZERO number of incidences of voter fraud in this state. It is all about CONTROL and SUPPRESSION of the AFRICAN AMERICAN voters. Also the ELDERLY AND POOR.
Then there is the Senate Bill 82. This bill would eliminate the option of straight party ticket voting. This bill was introduced by two Republican senators.
Senate Bill 666 filed last week by Republican Bill Cook, strips tax deductions from parents of college students who choose to vote where they go to school. The measure also requires voters to register in the same county where their vehicles are registered, another shot at college students who retain vehicle registration in their home counties. As you know the majority of college students vote Democrat.
On her show Rachel Maddow said the following: "Do yourself a favor and go set your Google news alert to North Carolina Republicans. They have completely unchecked power right now, and their ideas about how to use that power are, as the political scientists say, rather "amazeballs." For people who don't know what "amazeballs" means, it's a trendy way of saying something is amazing.
McCrory appointed John Skvarla as Secretary of the Department of Enviroment and Natural Resources (DENR). In an interview with WRAL, Skvarla questioned the science behind climate change and perpetuated the false notion that oil is a renewable resource. Seriously this is the go to guy for fracking.
In early February John Droz, a member of NC-20, a government and real estate group and powerful adversary of the Coastal Resources Commission, was invited by Rep. George Cleveland, a Republican from Onslow county, to speak to lawmakers about science. Droz's cachet among conservative lawmakers indicates that science may have little influence in enviromental policy making this session. Droz, is not a scientist, but nonetheless, he delivered a bewildering 155-slide Powerpoint presentation that attempted to discredit scientists, the scientific method and by extension, climate change, global warming and sea level rise.
This pretty much sums up NC Republican Unchecked Majority in the General Assembly in the 30 or so hours of the recent session the legislature gutted Racial Justice legislation, defunded Planned Parenthood again, thumbed its nose at Forced Sterilization survivors and Climate-Change Science, doled out dozens of Anti Regulatory Favors and not only Fast-Tracked Fracking, but also packed a new board to oversee it with people very friendly to the Oil and Gas Industry.
Art Pope, a retailer in NC, his money was so decisive in the 2010 election that Democrats have taken to calling North Carolina's new leadership "Bought and Paid For" by Pope. This is how it looks.
